Some call it a recreational drink. Others cannot start their day without drinking it. Some need to get through their day. Some enjoy it leisurely, savouring every sip.. But regardless of what it means to different people , it cannot be denied that coffee is truly evergreen. 

What’s equally amazing about coffee is the fact that there are a near-limitless number of ways by which you can prepare it. Be it instant coffee or artisanal coffee that can be brewed as per your taste, the recipe options are only limited by the boundaries of your imagination.  Let’s have a look at 5 evergreen coffee to try out at home. 


5 Evergreen homemade coffee recipe ideas

1. Cafecito ( Cuban espresso or cafe Cubano )
Originating in Cuba, this is a special type of espresso that is rich and sweet. It is normally served after dinner instead of  desserts. This coffee is known to possess a strong and powerful taste of smoke-filled woodiness. . In addition, it boasts a concentrated velvety texture. 

How to make cuban espresso: 

1. Brew espresso coffee using an espresso maker or Moka pot

2. Spoon out 2 drops of the espresso in a separate container and add 2 tablespoons of sugar to it.

3.  Whisk the mix for about 3 minutes until it thickens and froths.
       
4.  Once the coffee has finished brewing, pour it out entirely onto the mixture.
 
5.  Give it a shake to make coffee cream float on top.

6.  Enjoy the coffee! 


2. Dalgona Coffee
You might remember this coffee from the pandemic era when coronavirus was wreaking havoc and many of us found solace at the bottom of a Dalgona coffee cup. It is as easy to prepare as it is delicious and refreshing. It is a popular drink in South Korea and all it requires is 3 simple ingredients to prepare - water, sugar, and instant coffee. It is basically a form of whipped coffee.

How to make Dalgona coffee:

1. Put 2 tablespoons of instant coffee powder or granules in a bowl

2. Add 2 tablespoons of granulated white sugar to it

3. Pour 2 tablespoons of hot water

4. Whisk it with a mixer to thicken the mixture

5. In a separate glass tumbler  add some ice cubes and fill ¾ of the glass with cold milk. 

6. Add the frothy coffee mixture to this chilled milk and serve your cup of Dalgona coffee!

 

3. Pumpkin Spice Latte
This is a beverage that is commonly brewed by mixing traditional autumn spices with common coffee ingredients such as milk. Many major coffee houses and brands serve it as a seasonal specialty. . The popularity of pumpkin spice latte is increasing every year

How to make Pumpkin Spice Latte:

1. Add 2 tablespoons of pumpkin puree to milk.

2. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar into the mixture.

3. Grab a whisk and mix them all together.

4. Set the temperature to medium on the stove and heat it.

5. Add 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, 2 teaspoons of ground ginger, and a half teaspoon of nutmeg into a separate bowl.  

6. Mix them all together. 

7. Add this spice mix to your heated milk. 

8. Add a cup of brewed coffee to the milk and stir it well. . Your pumpkin spice latte is ready!

 

4. New Orleans coffee (Or Cafe Noir)
New Orleans coffee is special because roasted chicory roots are added along with coffee beans while brewing it. We recommend using a dark roast for this coffee.  This gives the coffee a rich, dark but sweet flavour. 

How to make Cafe Noir: 

1. Put coffee beans/powder and chicory into a filtered brewing container.

2. Pour half a cup of boiling water into it. 

3. You can add milk and sugar as per your taste. 

4. And voila, your cafe noir is ready to be enjoyed!

 

Turkish Coffee
Turkish coffee’s roots go as far back as the 15th Century in Arabia.Usually, Turkish coffee is made over sand, but we can make it at home without hot sand.  It has a strong and rich flavour with a hint of sweetness.


How to make Turkish coffee: 

1. Boil 2 cups of water with 1 teaspoon of sugar in a saucepan. 

2. Add coffee beans or powder and heat it until froth is formed but it isn’t boiling. . 

3. Add whole cardamom or cardamom powder to it. 

4. Pour it into cups without filtering, leave it still for a few minutes to allow the coffee and cardamom to settle at the bottom.

5. Enjoy your Turkish coffee!
